1. Important Health Disclaimer
The Minimalist Diet application (com.minimalist.diet) is a personal food-logging tool developed independently by RB Soft Studio. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any health organization or government agency.
IMPORTANT: Calorie and nutrient values estimated by artificial intelligence may be inaccurate or incomplete. This application is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional or dietary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a physician or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or have a history of eating disorders.
Privacy & Data Protection: On Your Device + Your Google Backup, AI Only When You Ask
Minimalist Diet stores all your data (food log, goals, settings) on your device, and Android automatically backs it up, encrypted, to your own Google account: if you switch phones, you get all your data back. No account, no sign-up, no server of ours, no ads, no trackers. Only when you start an analysis is the meal photo or your dictated text sent to Google (Gemini) to estimate its nutrition; the app does not keep the photo or audio. RB Soft Studio never receives your food log.

2. Data Stored on Your Device
- What is stored: your food log (foods, calories and macronutrients), your goals, your pantry, the history of your last 30 foods, and app settings.
- Where: on your device, in the app's private storage (a preferences file), and in your own Google account backup if Android backup is on (see section 7). RB Soft Studio operates no server for this data and never receives it.
- No account required: no sign-up, no login, no collection of names, emails or identifiers by RB Soft Studio.
- No ads, no trackers: the app does not use advertising SDKs, analytics, behavioral tracking or crash-reporting tools, and displays no ads. The only third-party services it uses are Google's Firebase AI Logic, Firebase App Check (Play Integrity) and Google Play Billing, described below.
3. AI Meal Analysis (Google Gemini)
Meal analysis uses Google's Gemini model through Firebase AI Logic, in a Google Cloud project operated by RB Soft Studio on a paid (billed) plan.
- What is sent, and when: only when you start an analysis, the meal photo you take or the text of your voice dictation (with the instructions needed to estimate nutrition) is sent to Google for processing. Nothing is sent in the background.
- Voice input: the app uses Android's built-in speech recognition (
SpeechRecognizer), provided by your device's system speech service (usually Google's). Depending on your device, that service may process your voice on the device or on Google's servers, under the Google Privacy Policy. The app itself never records or stores audio; only the recognized text is sent to Gemini for analysis. The app does not keep the meal photo either. - How Google handles it: under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service for paid services, Google does not use these prompts or responses to improve its products or train its models, and processes them under the Google Data Processing Addendum. Google logs prompts and responses for a limited period of time solely to detect and prevent abuse of its usage policies and for any legally required disclosures; this data may be stored transiently or cached in any country where Google operates facilities.
- Please avoid including faces, documents or other personal information in meal photos.
4. App Integrity Check (Firebase App Check)
To protect the AI service against abuse, the app uses Firebase App Check with Google's Play Integrity API. When the app calls the AI service, Google checks that the request comes from a genuine copy of the app installed from Google Play on a genuine Android device. This check is performed by Google Play services and involves technical information about the app and device; it is not used by RB Soft Studio to identify you. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
5. Subscription & Payments
Premium access is offered as a subscription, which may include a free trial, billed through Google Play Billing. Payments are processed entirely by Google; RB Soft Studio never receives your card or payment details, and only receives confirmation of whether your subscription is active. You can manage or cancel your subscription in the Google Play Store (Profile > Payments & subscriptions). Payment data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Permissions
- Camera: to photograph a meal for analysis, only when you choose to.
- Microphone: for voice input of a meal, only when you choose to.
- Internet and network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): to send an analysis request to the AI service, verify your subscription, and check whether a connection is available before doing so.
- These are the only permissions requested. The app does not access Health Connect, your location, your contacts or your photo library beyond what you choose to share.
7. Android Auto Backup (Your Google Account)
If backup is turned on for your device, Android may automatically back up the app's data file (nutrition_prefs.xml), which contains all your app data (food log, foods, goals and settings), to your own Google account and restore it, for example when you switch to a new phone, so you get all your data back. This backup is performed by Android and Google, not by RB Soft Studio; the app allows cloud backup only on devices that support end-to-end (client-side) encryption, so the backup is encrypted on your device before upload, and RB Soft Studio has no access to it. The AI usage counter and subscription status are not backed up. It is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can turn it off in your device settings (Settings > Google > Backup; the path may vary).
8. Data Deletion
- Clearing the app's data (Settings > Apps > Minimalist Diet > Storage > Clear data) or uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of its data from your device.
- To also delete the copy kept by Android Auto Backup, delete the app backup from your Google account (Google Drive > Backups, or your device's backup settings).
- There is no account to delete, since none is created.
9. Age Requirement
Minimalist Diet is intended for adults (18 years and older). It is not directed at children under 13, and RB Soft Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
